HH Shenphen Rinpoche

At the Dudjom Gompa, Urgyen Dongak Choling, in Boudha, Nepal, an extensive Long Life Ceremony, Ten Shug, was offered to His Holiness Shenphen Dawa Rinpoche on March 7-12, 1998.  For any Long Life ceremony, offerings representing body, speech, mind, qualities and activities of the Buddha are presented to the recipient of the ceremony.  Unique to this ceremony, sangha representatives from five countries where Rinpoche had given teachings – America, France, England, Switzerland, Spain – plus the Dudjom monastery each presented their five offerings to Rinpoche.

Of particular importance and auspiciousness is that Rinpoche wore, for the first time, the deep golden silk robe, the white and red yogi zen and the special golden crown which his father, His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche, had worn when giving most of the important wangs throughout his life. This visibly demonstrated the unbroken continuity of the Dudjom Tersar lineage.
